Today the US was delegation of the day! We were very excited to have our turn to do flag time and placemats and everything else a DOD should do. :)
We started the day with practice for Open Day. Each delegation will be presenting a small portion of their national night for the local community tomorrow. We will also do an energizer with the audience (sugar sugar). It should be fun!
After lunch (chicken soup) we were supposed to go swimming at a nearby lake for activity two but it was raining quite hard so we stayed at camp. Instead, we played the zipper game and a new one called Be Afraid of Silja...and we were! We had lots of fun and didn't even really mind that we had to skip the swimming.
At night, we saw the Latvian and Philippino national nights. Latvia presented a few songs and dances as well as some information about the different regions of their country. The Philippines showed us three dances including Tinikling, a dance with long bamboo poles. Afterwards we had a Tinikling contest and Silja won! We also got snacks and scrapbooks from both countries - yum! We liked the dried mango the best :)
Great to get to hear all is well and sound like loads of fun and games! Love the details!
ReplyDeleteEspecially love the posts where camp pictures are included...could you post some pictures from camp of the USA delegation please?
Keep up the great work I love reading the daily blog postings!!
Thanks,
